New York, NYThe Council for Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) and The New York Public Library present Periodically Speaking, a new reading series providing a major new venue for emerging writers to present their work while highlighting the riches of literary magazines in New York City and the magazine collections of The New York Public Library. Each event focuses on a theme and presents writers from three influential literary magazines, introduced by their publisher/editors.
Program I Open City Open City publishes a dynamic array of poetry and prose with a daring, youthful, spirit. Editor Joanna Yas will introduce Vince Passaro reading his short story Cathedral Parkway. Unpleasant Event Schedule One of the premier on-line literary magazines, Unpleasant Event Schedule, publishes new poetry and fiction. Editor Daniel Nester will introduce Shafer Hall reading a suite of poems, Big Confetti. Hudson Review For over 50 years The Hudson Review has celebrated the area where literature bears on the intellectual life of the time. Editor Paula Deitz will introduce Jacqueline Brown reading an excerpt from the memoir, Willie. Look for the next two programs in the Periodically Speaking Spring Schedule:
