Periodically Speaking: Literary-Magazine Editors Introduce Emerging Writers at The New York Public Library
New York, NYThe Council of Literary Magazines and Presses [clmp] and The New York Public Library present Periodically Speaking, a reading series providing a major venue for emerging writers to present their work while emphasizing the diversity of America's literary magazines and the magazine collections of The New York Public Library. Each event presents writers from three influential literary magazinesone poet, one fiction writer, one nonfiction writerintroduced by their editors.

Salt Hill
Now over 10 years old, Salt Hill offers outstanding new fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction. The magazine is published by writers affiliated with the Creative Writing Program at Syracuse University, and is funded in part by the College of Arts & Sciences and the Graduate Student Organization of Syracuse University.
Editors Aaron Chambers and Kayla Blatchley introduce fiction writer Phil LaMarche.
H.O.W. Journal (Helping Orphans Worldwide)
H.O.W. publishes an eclectic mix of today's prominent writers and artists alongside upcoming talents, with an effort to raise money and awareness for the 15 million children throughout the world that have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. The subject matter of the work is vast and varied: the only common element is its quality.
Editor Honor Moore introduces poet Laura Cronk.
Raritan: A Quarterly Review
Since its inception in 1981, Raritan has been dedicated to reaching a broad, popular audience, a goal reflected in its eclectic style and range of its subject matterfrom literature, history, and philosophy to psychology, film, and art. In 2002, the editorship passed to distinguished cultural historian Jackson Lears, who has retained Raritan's original mission while moving the journal in new directions, including contemporary culture and politics, fiction, color art, and what is sometimes called creative nonfiction.
Editor Jackson Lears introduces nonfiction writer Revan Schendler.
