Call For Submissions
coolest american stories is now–& until September 30–reading short story submissions for its 2024 volume. word min/max: 3,500 to 10,000, with exceptions made for stories w/ extraordinary promise to appeal to readers from all walks of life. Please don’t tell us where you’ve been published; please instead wow us with extraordinary storytelling. Payment: $100. Both unpublished and previously published short stories considered, unpublished novel excerpts okay. Note that, unlike many venues that publish short fiction, we edit with the goal of engaging readers from all walks of life.
