Accepting Submissions for Contrapuntos IX

Call For Submissions

Digitus Indie Publishers is now accepting submissions for Contrapuntos IX for the upcoming release in Fall 2021. For this issue, ‘Anthropocene – Quarantine’, Contrapuntos extends a call for submissions related to the environment, livelihoods, and human and non-human connections.

If the large-scale term ‘Anthropocene’ provides a panorama of how past and present human-environmental relations figure into an era of ongoing degradations, consider the present snapshot of quarantine and its survival strategies. What kinds of narratives arise when humans comply with strict stay at home orders in place while in 2020 mountain lions brazenly roam the streets of Santiago. And Panama’s Splendid Poison Frog was declared extinct in the same year, due to deforestation and the expansion of urban and suburban zones.

Manuscripts that engage with the following themes: rural and/or urban habitats, companion species, wildness, and natural resources will be given particular consideration when under review. Submissions not related to the theme will be considered with the full discretion of our editors.

Submissions are currently open and will remain open until July 1st, 2021. We are looking forward to reading your submissions. Meanwhile, use all this time to create fantastic pieces.

For the 9th edition of Contrapuntos we will be accepting works in prose, poetry, essay (creative and academic), and photography; all works preferably previously published online (with proper print permissions).
