Baltimore Review welcomes poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction submissions.
Poetry submissions: Submit three poems.
Fiction and creative nonfiction submissions: 5,000-word limit. Shorter is often better, and we enjoy flash-length prose.
For our fall 2023 issue, we will include a special section featuring Maryland writers. This is in addition to the work of writers from anywhere in the U.S. and beyond. There is a category for Maryland writers on our Submit page.
We will open a winter contest category on September 1.
We do not charge submission fees for non-contest submissions. Ever. But we send a doc with 55 writing prompts when submitters donate $5. Our contest fee is $8.
We pay all the writers we publish.
All categories close on November 30 and open again on February 1.
