Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Dark Onus is an experimental literary magazine based in Philadelphia, PA. The meaning of Onus - a dedication or duty to something.
We aim to be the early-season's Dark Mirror of magazines. The murky won-you-over side character of magazines. An ode to oddity, blemish, the profane, type of zine. We seek to explore shadows, terrors, and the unlit path. To encounter monstrosities, be them ourselves or otherworldly, and to see what stirs. We call out to those who meddle in the low light, seeking offerings of seldom-told tales and existences. We are set upon the dark in all of its forms. Be it shadow-work, ruminations, horrors, dry-humored speak, or a hundred things besides. Musing at the spider exposed by the turned stone. A penumbra's cast in lantern light. Send forth your portraits, portents and poems from beyond.
