Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
New Note Poetry is an online poetry magazine and chapbook publisher that features only the freshest poets and their verses. We aim to present new, genre-breaking artists while also fostering a high-quality brand. We do this by publishing our quarterly magazine featuring only the freshest voices as well as online chapbooks which show bold poets on the rise. Since poetry has been around since the dawn of language, it is too easy to say that everything has already been done. We believe that there is always a chance to add a new note to poetry, to keep it moving forward while leaving a mark.

We have two outlets for submissions: our quarterly online magazine and our online chapbook series entitled Noteworthy Chapbooks. What We Publish: Poetry only. We believe that poetry is the jazz of the written word. Therefore, we are open to all styles except for metered rhyme or epic poems. We seek fresh voices with unique perspectives. We want to see poets who break the mold and play with language, poetic form, and themes. We love the experimental and the avant-garde but also appreciate seeing modern twists on classic poetic forms. No subject or theme is too far-fetched for us. What We Don't Publish: Anything that is not poetry and anything that discriminatory towards any person or group (we don't need to tell you what constitutes). We reserve the right to deny a submission on this basis. For Magazine Submissions: Submit 3-5 poems in a single Word doc with each poem on a new page. Please allow us up to 1 month to review your submission. There is no need to follow up with us about your submission. We allow simultaneous submissions. Please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere. We retain First North American serial rights. All rights revert back to the author after publication. Do not submit revisions of previously declined poems. Please send us a brief cover letter explaining who you are and a short bio in third person. Only send us your best! For Chapbook Manuscript Submissions: Submit 10-20 poems in a single Word doc with each poem on a new page. We define a chapbook as a short collection of poems centered around one theme, poetic form, or concept. We do not accept any random collection of poems. Put thought into the chapbook as a whole, not just the individual poems. With your submission, please send us a cover letter briefly explaining who you are, what you are about, and a short third-person bio. If you were previously published through our online magazine, you are welcome to submit. However, you cannot re-publish a poem already published through the magazine. Please do not send us revisions of your chapbook if it was already turned down. Only send us your best!
