Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
The goal of Odd Pocket Press is to publish a variety of poems with a variety of different subjects, styles and view-points. We invite a series of guest editors to read, weigh-in and select poems for each issue. Unlike other journals, we do not require all the editors to agree on which poems get published, so if one guest-editor really loves a poem, it goes in! At the same time, we aim to carefully curate our selection and cull each issue down to no more than 25 (okay, maybe 30 at most) poems per issue. We hope this will allow us to curate a highly diverse representation of high-quality writing that risks both beauty and surprise.
