Making the Most of Book Fairs and Conferences

Join CLMP for a webinar on how literary magazines and presses can make the most of book fairs and conferences. With the AWP Conference around the corner and a full slate of book fairs and other literary events coming up throughout the year, now is the time to brush up on best practices. What is the benefit of attending book fairs? What should your goals and strategies be for each event? What other logistical considerations should you consider?

We’ll be joined by speakers Maribeth Batcha, publisher and cofounder of One Story; Kristen Renee Miller, executive director and editor-in-chief of Sarabande Books; and Steph Optiz, director of strategic partnerships at Bookshop.org and founding director of The Loft Literary Center’s Wordplay book festival. The presentation will be followed by time for Q&A.

Automated closed captioning will be available for this event. If you have other accessibility requests, please contact Chelsea Kern at [email protected]. The event will be recorded and archived in the CLMP Resource Library.
