EMERGENCY RELIEF FUNDS FOR PUBLISHERS
CARES Act
On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (the CARES Act) was signed into law and includes $75 million for the National Endowment for the Arts, 60% of which will be designated for direct grants and 40% for state funding. More information about how to apply will be available in May.
The CARES act also includes the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which will provide 8 weeks of cash-flow assistance, for any time frame between February 15, 2020, and June 30, 2020, through 100% federally guaranteed loans to small employers who maintain their payroll during this emergency. These loans may be forgiven if the principal is used for expenses for payroll, existing interest payments on mortgages, rent payments, leases, and utility service agreements.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS WILL BEGIN FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2020. Here is a sample application form from the Small Business Administration.
