CLMP provides its publisher members with a variety of programs and services. These include networking events with other literary allies (including booksellers, translators, commercial colleagues, librarians, cultural programmers and many others), roundtables, workshops, one-on-one consultations, re-granting opportunities, funder/contact/consultant database access, discounts, and more. To find out more information about these programs, and to access some of them directly, log in and explore the members-only section of the Publishers menu. If you’re not already a CLMP member, join here.
All small literary publishers may also have listings in the CLMP Directory (though only member publishers have complete listings).
The Firecracker Awards is an annual event that celebrates the best in independent literature. There are categories for Fiction, Poetry, Creative Nonfiction, and Magazines (Best Debut & General Excellence). All small publishers are encouraged to submit.
Press Fest, in partnership with the PEN World Voices Festival, is a large book fair for small and independent publishers. Both members and non-members are encouraged to join us for a day of bookselling, author signings, and other events.
Desert Nights, Rising Stars, the annual literary conference at Arizona State University, takes place February 22-23, 2019. Along with the conference’s 300+ guests, a book fair coincides with ASU’s Open Door day, which draws over 32,000 guests to campus. CLMP Members receive a discounted registration.
