The primary aim of Contemporary Verse 2 is to educate, engage and expand public appreciation of the art of poetry by featuring high quality original verse and critical writing by and about local, national and international poets. Mission statement:
Contemporary Verse 2 (CV2) is a national, quarterly poetry magazine which works to expand public appreciation of poetry. It does so with an inclusive publishing program and related activities including an expansive website, readings, events and related programing that supports outstanding new poetry and critical writing about poetry. CV2 publishes the broadest cultural, creative, innovative range possible of new, emerging and established poets to create an environment in which Canadian poetry can be appreciated by the widest possible public.

Submissions Policy
CV2 has an open submissions policy--we publish individual selections of poetry, reviews and interviews with poets. CV2 does not accept mail or email submissions. Submissions are through our website with Submittable. We accept submission CV2's reading period runs from Sept 1 through May 31. CV2 does not accept submissions from June 1 through August 31.
