Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Crybaby was founded in December 2014 as Crybaby Zine, an online and print zine “for and by teens.” As the team has grown up and our interests have evolved, we have chosen to take Crybaby in a new direction. Crybaby Press, like Crybaby Zine, wants to champion young writers and artists. We plan to do that by paying fair rates and creating new and exciting opportunities. Our first project as a press is The Dry River, a literary magazine focused on Los Angeles’ physical and cultural landscape. The Dry River is fiscally sponsored by Creative Visions, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that supports creative activists, those that use the arts and media to ignite social change.
