LONESOME is a journal of poetry, art, and music edited by Monique Erickson. Issue 1, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE debuts January 30th, 2024 in digital and print. LONESOME is an a mercurial salon series, with performances to date creekside in New York's Hudson Valley, the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and the hills of Berkeley, CA. LONESOME is a community calendar and independent press. ABOUT MONIQUE ERICKSON Monique Erickson is a poet, wordsmith and performance artist of Jewish and Cuban descent from New York City whose work grapples with daughterhood, motherhood, and womanhood. Her words, work, and likeness have appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Women’s Wear Daily, Dazed, Reserved, Paper Magazine (rip), and others. She first performed poetry professionally on stage at 16 opening for Sandra Bernhard. Monique has performed regularly at Bowery Poetry Club, the Museum of Modern Art, Tibet House, Rockwood Music Hall, KGB Bar, Pete’s Candy Store, the Annual New York City Poetry Festival on Governors Island, and The Hole Gallery, Los Angeles, for Frieze LA 2023.
