Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Moot Point Magazine is an online literary magazine that publishes fiction, poetry, and some other things like book reviews, book lists, and information about the literary world. Founded by two writers without an MFA, we seek to be an accessible venue that, above all else, is quick to respond and cherishes writing regardless of education or background. For fiction, we are launching with stories under 3000 words, but hope to expand that word count as we can grow our team and make sure submissions are ready thoroughly and quickly. For poetry, we are centering the wild, romantic, and erotic. For the nonfiction side, that will running lists that are updated frequently by our team. We believe the more people who can find literary community, the stronger the community will be. For all, the more unusual and the queerer the better. We have both worked for major literary magazines with response times of at least six months. We have been inspired by contemporary magazines that center spaces outside of New York and use the Internet to it's full potential in finding writers.

Submissions Policy
We will be open for general, free submissions in sporadic bursts, capped at 100 per genre. Our goal is to clear the submissions ASAP, in seven-days or less. Ideally, we will open each Saturday for 100 submissions, but we might be able to read a little fast, at which case, the more submissions the merrier! We also will be open for paid submissions at all times. Paid submissions will have a guaranteed seven-day turnaround time.
