Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
The purpose of NOWW is to promote and encourage the development of the writing and the literature of Northwestern Ontario. Our programs include readings, workshops, writing contests and supporting shared events that contribute to growing the writing community in the region. We run an annual contest (open to writers from around the world) and publish three issues of our magazine annually. Two are digital and a Summer issue is printed. The magazine is distributed to our members and the print issue is also sold at NOWW events and through a few local retailers. In 2017 we published a book featuring a selection of contest winners from the prior 20 years.
