We are committed to promoting and supporting quality, diverse, inclusive, and exciting Australian literature that breaks conventions, expands the reach of Australian fiction, and has artistic edge. We have stayed sustainable for over 20 years, but our considerations are never purely commercial. As an agile independent publisher, we take risks on works other publishers won’t, creating new opportunities for industry professionals, writers, and readers. While developing a healthy creative ecosystem, Puncher and Wattmann have published many debut collections. Over 50 of our titles have been shortlisted for, or awarded major prizes. While we’ve developed reach in national and international markets, Puncher and Wattmann retains a regional focus.
