Soul Forte: A Journal for Spiritual Writing is the official publication of the Institute for Spiritual Poetry. We publish participants' writing from "Soul Forte: A Workshop to Write and Talk" -- our monthly writing workshop -- as well as the work of guest contributors. We ditch the idea that our writing is either good or bad, or that poetry should be poetic. Instead, we follow poet and professor Christopher Perez's approach that "writing is not assessment, but time" -- time to discover and rediscover what the heart knows to be true, if not popular or understood.
