Established in 2011, Spineless Wonders is a unique indie Australian publishing house which showcases short stories on multiple platforms. It publishes single author collections, novellas and anthologies in print and digital formats. It hosts two annual writing awards, the Carmel Bird Short Fiction Award and the joanne burns microlit Award and each year it publishes emerging writers under 30 via Slinkies, its digital-only platform. The company also auspices Little Fictions, a show where actors read short stories to a live audience and it produces two literary podcasts. In 2016, it formed a multidiscipline artistic collective, #storybombing, which showcases Spineless Wonders’ short stories via installations, videos and interactive media.In 2018, Spineless Wonders established Microflix, a new film festival which awards short films. Spineless Wonders Audio, a audio production house for indie authors and publishers was established in 2021.
