Submissions Policy
Fiction - Short stories and excerpts from unpublished novels, typically 1,500 - 3,000 words. Nonfiction - Essays, memoir, and articles, typically 2,500 - 4,500 words. Poetry - Include 3 - 4 poems in a single file. Please limit to one submission at a time. Wait for a response to one before submitting another. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, as long as you immediately notify TEXT+Lit editors when your piece has been accepted elsewhere. We accept exclusively original, unpublished manuscripts. This precludes works published on a personal blog or other website. TEXT Lit is an all-volunteer organization. We can not accept pitches. Please send the full manuscript for the piece you would like us to consider. For pieces shorter than 1,000 words, submit to our sister publication, Short Beasts htps://www.shortbeasts.com, a flash fiction literary magazine with perpetually open submissions.
