Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Trauma Timelines believes that like a physical wound, emotional, mental, and spiritual wounds caused by trauma must be known and cleansed before they can properly heal. Art and literary endeavor, in any form, plays an integral part of that healing process. It is our mission to feature such work. Our purpose is to illuminate the voices of the hurt and create a process of healing in solidarity for readers. We believe that Trauma Timelines exists purely out of necessity.

Submissions Policy
Trauma Timelines accepts submissions on a rolling basis, and our guidelines are as follows: Poetry - If your poetry examines, confesses, reflects, or engages with trauma in any capacity, we would be honored to read it. Our tastes are certainly both modern and narrative, but we are not totally opposed to work that utilizes traditional forms in a provocative manner. Visual Art - All mediums are welcome. Our specific tastes include works that defy traditional portrayals of trauma, and those that convey their message without exploiting the subject. If your work is avant-garde or exceptionally abstract, please consider including a small artist’s statement in your submission. Mixed Media - Submissions that combine both literary and visual elements are strongly encouraged. We are also happy to consider short film and music submissions. As with our poetry and visual art submissions, the work must engage with the concept of trauma.
