Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Varmint is the first independent non-profit Oklahoma lit mag that pays its contributors. We primarily accept poetry, but from any stage in a poet's career. We seek new voices while promoting more experienced poets who have gone as yet unseen. By utilizing our submission fees to pay poets before our staff, we ensure that all contributors are valued as laborers, and that they are compensated for their art. We are also committed to being an art mag exclusively, which means we will never put ads in our print issues, relying solely on our readership and our submitters.
