How Did You Arrive At Your Current Position?
Whitson Ramsey and I formed Warm Milk Publishing as a branch of Warm Milk Creative after multiple years of artistic discussions. My own work in poetry and aesthetic perspective aligned with Whitson's leading to my position as poetry editor.
What Is The Staff Structure At Your Magazine/press?
Whitson Ramsey and myself work alongside one another in all aspects beginning from layout to publication.
Do You Have Any Cover Letter Advice?
Please provide a brief third person statement describing your artistic vision and goals, what truly fuels your work, and what influences have inspired your current work. Warm Milk Publishing would like to see other publications and social media.
How Are Submissions Processed In Your Magazine/press?
All poetry submissions are judged by myself personally while Whitson Ramsey oversees all submissions by visual artists. Afterwards we choose one work of art or poetry from those accepted to represent within our issue.
What Do You Look For In A Submission?
In regards to poetry I am looking for work that pushes boundaries, that challenges all conceived norms and the limits of language as we know it. Poetry that is unafraid and dares to be the outlier in search of something greater.
What Advice Do You Have For First-time Submitters?
Do not provide any personal information within the document itself, always review your work several times and only submit the absolute best.
Who Is Your Ideal Reader?
The ideal reader is one that truly loves and appreciates the arts. Someone that is seeking to see the formation and change of the literary and artistic world driven by new, diverse voices with exciting work that dares to push boundaries.
