Join CLMP for a presentation by Emily Louise Smith on best practices and tips for grant writing for literary magazines and presses. Come learn about this essential skill for indie publishers looking to acquire funding through grants!

Emily Louise Smith is the publisher of Lookout Books, which she co-founded in 2009, and the literary magazine Ecotone, for which she also served as designer or art director from 2005 through 2017. She is an assistant professor of creative writing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she directs The Publishing Laboratory and teaches courses including Introduction to Book Publishing, Bookbuilding, Book Marketing and Publicity, Publishing Process, Writing for Grants and Fellowships, the Art of Literary Gathering, and the Publishing Practicum, among other special topics.

The presentation will be followed by time for Q&A.
