Call For Submissions
Intertidal: An Open Call for Poetry from Singapore
For this special edition of Interim Poetics, we are looking to feature poetry from the thalassocratic island-city-nation of Singapore. Give us poetry from the littoral and the liminal. Give us poetry that stinks of Singapore. Gives us poetry that ignores Singapore. Give hybrid work that mixes and messes. Give us poems with many languages. Give us poems from the borderlands of language.
Above all, we’re looking to surprise readers with Singapore’s chimera strangeness, its slipperiness, its chameleon versatility. We’re particularly interested in work that plays with language, that is multilingual and translingual, though we regret to say we’re unable to accept work that is entirely in a language that is not English, unless a translation is provided.
Writers do not have to be Singaporean or based in Singapore to be accepted, but should have a meaningful connection with Singapore. We’re very accepting in terms of form, and are open to consider things that smell like poetry. We’re honored to have
