Issue #1: Blood Pressure

Call For Submissions

Heart on Our Sleeves Press is proud to announce our very first submission period is now open! We shall be reviewing works of poetry and prose during a three-month period, from March 16th until June 16th of 2024.

Our opening theme is “Blood Pressure.” The description of this theme, verbatim, from our website: “‘Blood Pressure’ does not actually refer to the medical measurement you may be familiar with, but in fact, the pressure we as humans feel to make our countries, families, and even ourselves proud. Do you feel personally victimized by your ancestors? Did you pick a career path your parents might not approve of? Do you have a deep-seated desire to succeed that torments you daily? Then we want to hear from you! Get those pressures all out on the page and submit it to us!”

Please read our submission guidelines in their entirety before you enter!

Include in your email submission: name, brief bio (less than two hundred words), and a method of contact (if different from email). Although we will have access to this information, selection will still remain anonymous and merit-based; attached files will be downloaded without identifying features and shuffled for maximum objectivity.
