Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Ember Chasm Review is an Arizona-based literary magazine and craft journal. We publish innovative, brutally honest prose and poetry. In other words, we want stories that scream in libraries, stories that veer us down a hidden road in a well-known city—we want the stories you construct outside your comfort zone. Diversity of content is appreciated: play with genre, form. Break walls and show us the mold sprouting beneath. We especially encourage submissions from emerging, unpublished, and undergraduate writers.

Submissions Policy
We accept submissions year round for our print/digital issues and contests which are released in March and September. We usually publish around fifteen to twenty contributors in each issue, and for now, we pay through print contributor copies (but hope to add payment for authors with our next issue in September). Simultaneous submissions are accepted, along with multiple submissions, only through our Submittable account.
