Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Fallen Tree Press is a small press specializing in publishing poetry chapbooks. We are focused on being part of the larger writing community. It’s our intent to promote a diverse group of writers, especially those identifying as women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and members of underserved groups. Whenever possible, a portion of the proceeds from book sales will be donated to charity. The charities will be selected in conjunction with the authors.

Do You Have Any Cover Letter Advice?
If we ask for information in the guidelines, such as when we are looking for authors who meet certain requirements, please address those in your cover letter.
How Are Submissions Processed In Your Magazine/press?
My co-manager and I, and a third reader, go through the submissions and make recommendations on whether the chapbook should make it to the next round or not. By the time we get to the last few books, all three of us have read it cover to cover.
What Do You Look For In A Submission?
We want to publish work that moves us, connects with us, and makes us look at the world from a different angle.
What Advice Do You Have For First-time Submitters?
Edit your work a whole bunch, then send us poems that you feel strongly about.
