Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Frayed Edge Press is a small independent publishing house based in Philadelphia. We publish literary fiction and poetry, as well as non-fiction titles in history, political science, and other social sciences/humanities. We also publish selected translations in those categories. We especially welcome marginalized voices, both historical and contemporary, including women, people of color, ethnic and religious minorities, the LGBTQ+ community, and progressive political viewpoints. We particularly seek to publish works that wrestle with important questions challenging contemporary society, including political and environmental concerns, civil rights, women's rights, and sustainability.

Submissions Policy
We accept book proposals in the categories of fiction, poetry, and non-fiction (primarily history and politics). We also publish selected translations in those categories. We are seeking interesting, well-written works that are a bit "on the edge." We support diverse books and are particularly interested in, but not limited to, works expressing the viewpoints of women, people of color, ethnic and religious minorities, and the LGBTQ+ community. Submission period details and online query forms are available on our website.
