Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Mission KODA is a nonprofit arts organization based in New York dedicated to mid-career artists of diverse backgrounds. We grant residencies to allow for experimentation and facilitate creative projects through strategic partnerships with socially engaged businesses. We are the go-to thinking spot and serve the community through exhibitions of contemporary art, events and outreach to strengthen art education. KODA Publishing champions art historical scholarship through print and online publications for mid-career socially engaged artists, significant to an artists’ career, providing opportunities to share, and communicate their vision through print and online publications. Editorial Focus: socially engaged art, commissioned essays, scholarly publications, exhibition catalogues, and coming soon an online magazine on decolonizing and conceptual art.

Submissions Policy
Due to high specialization of the field, to date, the writers have been invited, through a curatorial selection process. Based on their experience, and/or prior knowledge of the artist/s. The online magazine coming up in April will launch with an invited academic. However, after that, every quarter we will organize an open call process targeted at doctorate candidates, academics, curators, sociologists, and other experts, specializing in decolonizing and conceptual art.
