Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Live Mag! was founded at the Bowery Poetry Club in 2007 when the Publisher Jeffrey Cyphers Wright hosted a reading and then went on to publish the participants. Since its inception as a platform for live performance readings, the publication is now in print and online. In addition to poetry the magazine is now almost half art and includes select reviews. The magazine comes out annually. As its name implies, Live Mag! also hosts numerous events to showcase its contributors. We typically partner with La Mama, KGB Lit Bar, NYPL, and Howl! Happening in New York and produce up to a dozen events each year.

Do You Have Any Cover Letter Advice?
Make it a bit personal by including whose writing you admire as well as some publishing current credits.
What Do You Look For In A Submission?
Poems that are modern and offer a convincing voice. Our taste ranges from experimental to lyric, narrative to abstract. We value writing that surprises but coheres and gives the sense of a voice or persona behind the words. Same with artwork!
Who Is Your Ideal Reader?
Someone who is curious and wants a contemporary sampling of art and poetry. Someone who will read every word and study every image and then come back and do it again.
