Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Old Scratch Press was formed when Dianne Pearce (of Current Words Publishing and Devil's Party Press) decided she wanted a way to make publishing poetry affordable. She reached out to poets she had published and asked if any of them would be willing to chop wood and carry water so that poets/short form authors could get their collections published. Eleven authors responded yes, which, with Pearce, makes an even dozen. The press/collective meets monthly and is working to get every member a published book. The press has also taken on curating the lit. mag Instant Noodles. In future they hope to offer contests and opportunities for authors outside the press as well.
