Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Point Zero Press is a NYC-based small press that will publish translations of 'ecocritical' poetry, fiction, essays and visual art from across the Americas. We received 501(c)(3) certification in August and are preparing to release our first books in 2024, since we currently have completed or nearly-completed translations of texts by poets Ida Vitale, Amanda Berenguer, and Bruno Montanet Krebs. Our mission is to promote and foster public interest in writing and art that takes inspiration from encounters with the natural world or problems of ecology, with a focus on non-U.S. or non-English-language authors. In addition to publishing books, we are planning to launch a program of cultural and ecological activities aimed at New York City's diverse socioeconomic communities.
