Rare Swan Press and its cultural magazine Literati Magazine (since 1999) is dedicated to preserving the independence of the artistic voice, regardless of origin. Our editorial focus is prepared to go against the grain and our publishing collaborative projects may defy conventional expectations of 'traditional print publishing. We seek to curate what an become an historical window into global artistry which thrives on the sidelines of mainstream literature.

Submissions Policy
Rare Swan Press currently is focussed on special project publishing. While we maintain an open submission policy the number of acceptances is relatively low. Please keep in mind this is a small press and we are committed fully to projects we do accept for publication. We publish Literati Magazine which is undergoing full revision to feature artistic and literary portfolios. Currently Rare Swan Press is hosting the inaugurial biennial Kari Ann Flickinger Memorial Literary Prize, which for 2023 is looking for poetry chapbook submissions.

How Are Submissions Processed In Your Magazine/press?
Submissions to both Rare Swan Press and Literati Magazine are read and considered thoroughly. Should we believe work can be improved we request collaboration interest in working with a designated editor. Rejections are always addressed.

Originality, an obvious respect for craft and a willingness on the part of the writer to work with our editing team to offer the very best reading experience to their audience.

Do You Have A Favorite Unsolicited Submission Discovery Or Anecdote?
Among my favourite unsolicited submission discoveries have been some very brave young voices unafraid of speaking out, as well as unexpected talented voices from across the globe which are not only literary but artistic too.

Anyone passionate about opening up their personal horizon to the discovery of worlds held within the artistry of language and the imagination, regardless of genre.
