Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
All poetry productions—group and individual—participate in an active network for production since the body itself is a network of connectors with thinking going on at several levels even within the individual. Publishing like identity conforms to the group model of interaction. So Roof Books shelters different tendencies of new writing, not by intention, but by default. And by default it helped generate an important idea in support of arresting climate change and multiple perspectives on new writing. These clusters of ideas, ringing around each other, makes perfect sense as poetry. Roof has been a successful idea as a publisher, although it is still true that I can buy a piece of paper for a penny, but if I put a poem on it, I can’t give it away.
