Submissions Policy
Talking River Review, Lewis-Clark State College’s literary journal, seeks examples of literary excellence and originality. Send us your poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction manuscripts. Please do not mix different genres in the same submission. As payment, contributors receive one copy of the issue in which their work appears, a one-year subscription to TRR beginning with the following issue, and a one-year gift subscription for a friend beginning with the issue in which the author’s work appears. Writers should submit no more than one long prose piece (up to 4,000 words) at a time and no more than two short-shorts (250 – 1,000 words) at a time. All prose manuscripts should be double-spaced. There are no particular content restrictions. We accept poetry manuscripts without regard to content. Poets should submit no more than five poems at a time. Please send one submission at a time and wait for a response before you submit additional work. If your work has been accepted for publication, please wait at least six months between submissions. We do not consider book-length works. Talking River Review is published biannually by the Associated Students of Lewis-Clark State College (ASLCSC). Subscriptions are $10 per year (which includes two issues ) and back issues are $10. Submitters are strongly encouraged to read the journal before submitting. Visit our website, talkingriverreview.com, for more details. Talking River Review staff read submissions August 1 through April 1.
