Submissions Policy
The Mantelpiece is open to unsolicited submissions of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. We consider all submissions for both our website and online magazine. Please send your work via email to [email protected] All submissions must be in English and previously unpublished. Translations are welcome and should be accompanied by a copy of the original. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, as long as we are notified immediately if the manuscript is accepted for publication elsewhere. You can download The Mantelpiece for free on our webpage to acquaint yourself with the material the magazine has published.

How Did You Arrive At Your Current Position?
After studying English Literature and Creative Writing at the Open University at Milton Keynes, England, I decided to establish a Literary magazine of my own, dedicated to publishing new writing from around the world.
What Is The Staff Structure At Your Magazine/press?
There are two full positions at the magazine, i.e. the editor and the layout designer who also does all the work on the website. Other work is done by freelancers or volunteers. Most of the fiction, poetry and essays come from external authors.
Do You Have Any Cover Letter Advice?
Send your submission via email. Please indicate in the subject line of your email the following: SECTION, Title of your work, and word count. Write a short summary of your work (no more than 100 words) and a short bio (no more than 100 words.
