Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Ursus Americanus Press is a small chapbook publisher based out of Chicago, IL and Brooklyn, NY. We focus primarily on poetry and creative non-fiction that is more expansive than traditional chapbook lengths, but shorter than full-length books (around 40-45 pages). We are two working individuals with no academic ties or outside resources whatsoever. Our mission is to simply produce beautiful, perfect-bound editions of arresting literature that may not find traction at other presses. We release 4-5 titles a year.
