This 99th issue of The Louisville Review will be released in spring 2026, marking 50 years of uninterrupted publication of The Louisville Review, founded in 1976. No Submission fee! Submissions open January 24 – 29, 2026.
Accepting submissions for:
• Fiction – Submissions of 1,500 words or greater (capped at 100 submissions).
• Short Fiction/Hybrid Prose – Submissions less than 1,500 words (capped at 100 submissions)..
Unpublished work only.
Simultaneous submissions allowed.
Submit to only one category.
Contributors receive one complementary print issue.
Submissions for our Cornerstone section (poetry by young writers in grades K-12) will be open January 24 – February 28, 2026.
Please Note: We will only be reading for Fiction and Cornerstone for this call, as the Poetry section for TLR 99 will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Affrilachian poets. We will hold the next general call (including Poetry) September 7 – 12, 2026.
