ART SICK is an online literary magazine. It is a place for poems that come from constraint, lived experience, joy, grief, and the urgency of the ineffable. With two curated issues each year, we look for poems that feel necessary. Work that has been lived with, revised, and brought fully onto the page. Our editorial focus includes new and invented forms, prose poetry, experimental work, hybrid texts, and pieces that innovate poetic craft. As a publication from The Poetry Lab, ART SICK extends a commitment to creating space for writers and their work. This is a place for finished poems that insist on existing, and for the poets who make them.

Keep it simple. A brief greeting and a third-person bio are all you need. We read submissions blind, so your cover letter is not considered during the editorial review process. It simply helps us get to know you if your work is selected.
What Do You Look For In A Submission?
We look for poems that surprise us, stay with us, and feel necessary. Whether traditional or experimental, every poem should carry its own weight. Above all, we're looking for work that leaves us eager to read it again.
What Advice Do You Have For First-time Submitters?
Read the magazine before you submit. Every literary magazine has its own editorial vision. We encourage first-time submitters to spend time with Issue 1 and our editorial philosophy before sending us your work.
