Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Big Score Lit stands by these three principles: 1) Writers deserve to be paid decently for their work.
2) Submissions are selected without knowledge of who the author might be.
3) The best kind of lit mag is one you can hold in your hands, and every issue (Spring and Fall each year) should be readable in one sitting, ~75 pages.

Do You Have Any Cover Letter Advice?
Going outside the standard template is OK. No one will read the cover letter until the submission has already been selected or not.
What Do You Look For In A Submission?
Radical juxtaposition within the work, with each of our issues, and from issue to issue. If we leaned one direction in our prior issue, we're likely to lean in another for the next.
What Advice Do You Have For First-time Submitters?
2500 words or thereabouts is the sweet spot. However, we are open to short and long submissions with the caveat that since each issue is 75 pages, longer submissions face a much steeper road to acceptance.
