Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Founded in 2008, Blackboard is a reading series devoted to Black Playwrights. We support the development of new work by Black Playwrights with a feature reading followed by a twenty minute talk-back where feedback is given. Community Nights give Black playwrights the opportunity to hear up to 10 minutes of new work cold read. Feature Readings and Community Nights were twice monthly and shifted to a digital space following Covid-19 in March of 2020.
