Blue Cactus Press is a micro-publisher based out of Tacoma, Washington. We value community involvement in the arts and collaboration. We’re particularly interested in poetry, short-stories and essays that shed light on the under-currents of our shared human experience, including depression, anxiety, fear, loneliness, morality, etc.

We’re on the hunt for full-length non-fiction manuscripts (poetry and essays included) by women, transgender and gender-nonconforming People of Color. We’re particularly interested in works that inspire dialogue about the undercurrents of the shared human experience. Please include a cover letter with your manuscript, addressing how your work connects to our mission statement, recurring themes in your creative work, and what you hope to accomplish via publication. Send your cover letter and manuscript to bluecactuspress (at) gmail (dot) com. *Manuscripts should be sent in Microsoft word (.doc or .docx) format, in 12 point, Times New Roman font. For prose, please ensure your work is double-spaced. For poetry, please send your work spaced/placed as it is intended to be read on the page. Our submission period will remain open until September 1, 2020. Submitted manuscripts will be considered for 2021 and 2022 publication. Please know: we will try our best to personally respond to your submission within three months of receiving your work. However, depending on the volume of submissions, we may not be able to. Lastly, we can’t wait to read your work, so just send it. Open your email, attach the files, and press the damn button.
