Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Chatterbox is a rebellion against the shortening attention span of readers, as well as the current pacing trends of popular short fiction. We love maximalism, pertinent rambling, and stories that build to a crescendo, even if they take a while to get there. Every month, we publish one work of fiction—a story or novel excerpt—accompanied by an interview with the author. We aim to publish work that is consistently exceptional, occasionally odd, and always between 4,000 and 10,000 words.
