Does It Have Pockets is an online literary magazine with a focus on hybrid genre or otherwise unclassifiable work. We will publish monthly, including submissions as well as staff columns, features, and opinions. Poetry, short stories, creative nonfiction welcome.

Submissions will be welcomed on a rolling basis (creative nonfiction, poetry, short fiction (up to 5K), art/photography, as well as pitches for columns and features. $3 per submission with a free submission period periodically the last three days of every month. From our site (still under construction) We are looking for fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and artwork. We also welcome pitches for columns (monthly or quarterly), interviews, book reviews, and other literary adjacent projects. Of particular interest are hybrid and cross-genre works that straddle the lines of classification. As of March 2023, we expect to publish 3 stories, 3 poem sets, and 3 nonfiction pieces per month with plans to increase our frequency as we grow. Some specifics: • Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please let us know in your cover letter. 
 • We will be glad to look at previously published work (reprints) as long as you 1. have the rights and 2. it has been at least 24 months since published elsewhere and 3. you provide the prior publication data at submission.
 • Poetry: 3-5 poems, Fiction: up to 5K words, CNF: up to 5K words. Slightly over these word counts is fine, however, please be reasonable.
 • Pitches: For periodic features or one-off interviews, reviews, etc., please use the pitch submission option. Explain your idea, intended frequency, and your intended audience. Pitch submissions are, of course, free.
 • Submissions fees for literary works are $3 to assist in covering the cost of artist payments and administrative costs. If this cost is a hardship, you may submit for free during the last three days of each month.
