Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Founded in January 2018 by Joni Renee Whitworth in Portland, Oregon, Future Prairie is a queer creative studio and non-profit artist collective. We make work about the future. We also produce a monthly magazine and podcast, host a quarterly variety show, and curate exhibitions, panels, performances, and published works. Our work centers the narratives of historically-marginalized groups such as women, disabled, racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual minorities, and low-income individuals.
