Rowayat publishes stories from Egypt and the world. Connecting creative writing from SWANA to Canada. Like the bennu in our logo, that rises again and flies to new homes, we have chosen to pursue our mission from a new destination. We were founded in Cairo but now we are in Montreal. Our mission is to unravel Egypt’s treasure trove of contemporary literature to the rest of the world. Our vision is to create a space and a home for hybrid writers. Rowayat seeks writing by both emerging and established writers. Contributors of art, comics, fiction, CNF, poetry and flash fiction do not need to identify as SWANA; we ask that submissions are in dialogue with the SWANA region and its diaspora communities.
