Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Majuscule mission statement Majuscule’s mission is to publish serious nonfiction essays on a variety of topics that would not otherwise be published in a climate where journalism and magazines are forced to compete for “clicks” and “page views.” Majuscule accepts the premise that good writing sometimes can only be supported through a patronage model, and sees this as a strength and a liberating factor. Majuscule is free to publish works of unusual character, interest, or style regardless of their potential appeal to a broad or commercial audience. Majuscule’s operational mission at present and for the foreseeable future is a tri-quarterly publication each of issue of which contains four substantial essays on elements of culture and literature, as well as three to four letters from correspondents abroad and in the United States.
