Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
midnight & indigo is a literary organization founded in 2018 to provide a space for Black women writers to share their work with the world. With an emphasis on celebrating short fiction and essay writing, we exist to make a meaningful contribution to the rich literary tradition while providing a platform to elevate our voices. Since our inception, we have published 260+ Black women writers across the U.S., Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, Canada, Asia, and Australia. In addition to our digital publication, we publish a bi-annual print literary journal and facilitate an online Writing Program for Black women writers.
