Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Mouthfeel Press (MFP) was founded in 2009 with the goal of publishing emerging and established poets from the U.S./Mexico borderlands, writing in English and Spanish. MFP quickly expanded to include writers from throughout the U.S., and the borderlands became an extended metaphor for writers residing in liminal spaces. MFP has published over thirty books of poetry, including chapbooks. Our authors have won the FOCO Tejas Award, the International Latino Book Award, and the Western Heritage Award. Our commitment is to publish poetry and fiction with engaging themes of intersectionality, gender, race, spirituality, politics, ecology, and physical borders. We want our authors to be part of the literary conversation and social contemporary climate. We welcome diverse ideas, voices, and forms.
